<?xml version='1.0' encoding='ISO-8859-1'?><?xml-stylesheet type='text/xsl' href='ss.xsl'?><root><expires>2/5/2013 12:00:00 AM</expires><item1>January 29, 2013</item1><item2>Assistant Deputy Clerk </item2><item33>The Supreme Court of Ohio is seeking </item33><item3>candidates for Assistant Deputy Clerk to provide administrative support to the Clerk, Case Management Counsels, and Chief Deputy Clerk. </item3><item44>The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. </item44><item5>Performs confidential administrative functions. Drafts, types, and edits memoranda, correspondence, reports, and notices.  Opens and distributes mail.  Screens and routes telephone calls.  Responds to routine correspondence and telephone inquiries from Court staff, attorneys, and the public.  Conducts independent research and proposes responses to constituent requests for review by supervisor.  Creates and maintains correspondence files.  

Works in the Court's Case Management System (CMS).  Enters docket and case information in case management system; cross-checks information docketed by deputy clerks.  Maintains the Court's Administrative Journal.  Processes affidavits of disqualification and related correspondence.  Performs data entry related to the Court's oral argument calendars.  Produces and mails notices of oral argument.
</item5><item12>Maintains office equipment and orders office supplies.  Processes purchase requisitions and invoices.  Researches and recommends cost-saving opportunities when ordering supplies and office equipment.  Handles office accounts and prepares weekly deposit.  Maintains tracking system for local rules filed by courts throughout the state.  Corresponds with courts regarding local rule filings. 

Scans case filings.  Drafts and prepares judgment entries, mandates, and death warrants by using and interpreting information from vote sheets, memoranda, and court filings for review by supervisor or colleagues.  Assists with docketing and processing of Court entries. Assists Case Management Counsels in preparation of non-routine Court entries.
</item12><item14>Monitors final disposition of cases.  Transmits orders, judgment entries, mandates, death warrants and Court opinions to attorneys, parties, lower courts, and agencies, while making routing decisions consistent with Court rules and office policies and practices.  Monitors compliance with Court orders and prepares show cause and contempt orders in instances of noncompliance for review by supervisor.  Initiates service of process in original actions.

Serves as back-up to deputy clerks and records specialist.  Participates on various teams to achieve office goals.
</item14><item6>Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Four or more years of progressive office support and administrative experience is required.  Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) required.  Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy required.  Also required is the ability to work well in a team environment, maintain confidences, and exercise sound judgment and discretion.  Ability to apply complex rules and to understand judicial and court procedures is required.  Two of the four or more years in progressive office support and administrative experience in a legal environment or court administration is preferred.
