The Supreme Court of Ohio Law Library subscribes to a number of online databases. Court personnel have full access to the databases either from their work computers (InfoTrac and Hein Online, Chicago Manual of Style, LLMC Digital) or by obtaining usernames and/or passwords via the Library's "Online Databases" page on the Court Intranet. Public patrons may access InfoTrac and Hein Online, and the Chicago Manual of Style from Library computers but must seek assistance from a Library staff member for the other databases.

Access hundreds of law reviews and journals, with many pre-dating coverage available on Lexis and Westlaw. Other resources available with this service include the Federal Register dating back to 1936, treaties and agreements, U.S. Attorney General opinions, legislative history, Statutes at Large, and a legal classics library. Another product that can be accessed automatically, the Chicago Manual of Style is completely searchable and easy to use, providing quick answers to style and editing questions.

This database deals with tax law, and the Law Library subscription specifically deals with the tax laws of Ohio, other states, and some local resources. For federal tax law, please use the public patron subscriptions for Lexis and Westlaw along with the Law Library's hardcopy resources in the tax area on the 13th floor.

Also known as the Law Library Microform Consortium, LLMC Digital is the online arm of this entity that scans public domain legal documents. The online collections include federal, state, and territorial resources, along with some international and multi-jurisdictional materials. There is no password required to use this service.

Full Text Sources Online is a directory of publications that are accessible online in full text from 27 major aggregator products. FSO lists 33,184 periodicals, newspapers, newsletters, newswires, and TV or radio transcripts. It covers topics in science, technology, medicine, law, finance, business, industry, the popular press and more. FSO also lists the URLs of publications with Internet archives, noting whether access is free.

This service provides Information about the Ohio General Assembly. Much of the information can be accessed from the links along the left side of the site. Click on “The Ohio Report” for entry into current and archived reports.

M. Lee Smith Publishers offers this newsletter online as well as in hard copy. Users must log in to access the information. Also available on the page are special reports, a three year index of articles, statutes, regulations, and some human resource tools.

This online publication provides Franklin County legal news. Access to some stories and statistics is offered on the first page. Subscribers can search the archive for past news stories, court records, and legal notices.

The electronic edition of this financial newspaper contains some stories that are not free. The Library's subscription allows access to these stories.
PACER Service Center (http://pacer.uscourts.gov/)
PACER is the Federal Judiciary's centralized registration, billing, and technical
support center for electronic access to U.S. District, Bankruptcy, and Appellate
court records. Docket sheets are usually available for most cases, with some
courts offering imaged documents as well. PACER bills at $.08 per page within a search result. A page is considered to be 54 lines, an imaged page is one page.

Court employees should use the ID that was issued to them. Public patrons may
use their own password to access or may check with a staff member to use the
Library's public subscription.
Westlaw® (http://www.westlaw.com)
Just as with Lexis, Court employees should use their assigned password. Public patrons may use their own password to access or may check with a staff member to use the Library's public subscription.
InfoTrac (Access is limited to the desktop of public computers)
This service includes everything that was formerly found within LegalTrac. There
are also full-text non-legal articles among this database that includes access
to over 42 million articles.
OhioLINK/State Library
of Ohio (http://www.ohiolink.edu)
Access requires a library card from the State Library of Ohio. Patrons who do
not have a State Library of Ohio card can obtain an application form and assistance
from a Supreme Court of Ohio Law Library staff member.
OPLIN/Ohio Public Library Information Network (http://www.oplin.org/databases)
OPLIN offers much of the same materials as OhioLINK. Access requires a library
card from any participating public library in the State of Ohio. Columbus
Metro is a member. Patrons who do not have a public library card must request
assistance from a Supreme Court of Ohio Law Library staff member.
