Superintendence Rule 48 requires that guardians ad litem complete three hours of continuing GAL education every calendar year after completing the initial six hour pre-service course.

Who Should Attend

This course is open to attorney and non-attorney guardians ad litem who have successfully completed a pre-service course.

Is there a cost for this course?

Course and materials are provided free of charge. Lunch/snacks are on your own.

Is this course approved for CLE or CPE?

The Judicial College requests regular CLE for all GAL courses, subject to exceptions. The courses do not carry Judicial College (CJE) credit or CEU credit for social workers or any other professionals. Please refer to the course announcements for specific information.

Register online at OhioCourtEDU.

Cancellations

To cancel your registration, log into OhioCourtEDU, search for the course for which you are registered and select “unregister.” If you cannot attend the course, you MUST notify us by noon three days prior to the course. Late cancellations and “no shows” are still costs incurred by the Supreme Court and will cause other GALs to be closed out due to space limitations.
