For the first time, the Supreme Court of Ohio is making Lexis and Westlaw training available to law library patrons free-of-charge.
In recognition of the 50th anniversary of National Library Week (April 13-19), trainers from LexisNexis and Westlaw will conduct beginner and intermediate sessions to teach the latest searching and menu techniques to library patrons. Beginner sessions start at 9:15 a.m. and intermediate sessions at 10:45 a.m. both days on Tuesday, April 15, and Wednesday, April 16. Nearly 30 patrons have signed up for the classes.
“We’ve been looking for ways to make our resources even more accessible to patrons, and National Library Week offered the perfect opportunity to unveil this new initiative,” said Law Library Director Ken Kozlowski. “This training is a great way for someone not quite adept at using legal research tools to gain a comfort level. The classes are free and patrons will receive four hours of CLE credit if they attend all four sessions.”
Library patrons include state agencies, attorneys, paralegals, law clerks and general patrons and use special accounts.
