The Supreme Court of Ohio today released for public comment proposed amendments updating the rules concerning court security plans and standards.
Specifically, the proposed amendments to Rule 9 and Appendix C of the Rules of Superintendence for the Courts of Ohio would require courts to take certain actions, such as establishing a court security committee to implement the security standards in Appendix C and adopting an emergency preparedness manual and continuity of operations manual as part of a court security plan. Additionally, the proposed amendments would recommend courts take other actions, such as evaluating and updating its information technology security and implementing appropriate security controls.
Public comment on the new rules will be accepted until June 10, 2008.
