Supreme Court Honors Five Professional Excellence Award Winners
The Supreme Court of Ohio on Tuesday honored five of its employees with professionalism awards for their exemplary service to the Court.
“This institution is very fortunate to have so many talented and hard-working employees,” said Chief Justice Thomas J. Moyer. “These annual awards are an important way to recognize the very best efforts of our staff.”
The Professional Excellence Awards are presented annually to up to five employees who distinguish themselves through demonstrating excellence in performance of their duties; demonstrating superior achievement in the completion of a special project or task; or displaying a positive attitude toward their work, fellow employees and the constituencies of the Court.
An awards ceremony was held Tuesday in the Courtroom of the Ohio Judicial Center. Recognized were:
- Susan Christoff, a Powell resident, who was recognized for spearheading the online attorney registration and 2005-2007 biennium registration processes.
- Jackie Crowley, a 25-year veteran, who is the first African American woman marshal of the Court.
- Michael Mason, of Southeastern Columbus, who was recognized for his diligence and positive attitude toward his work and fellow employees.
- Amy Weinstock, a case operations manager in the Clerk's Office, who was honored for overseeing the Court's successful implementation of a new electronic case management system.
- Jay Wuebbold, a 12-year employee, who was recognized for leadership in opening the Court's new Visitor Education Center in 2005.
Also recognized at Tuesday's event were 33 employees who received years-of-service awards from the Court.
“These awards give us the opportunity to collectively recognize the high degree of quality and professionalism that our employees bring to this Court and its constituents,” said Administrative Director Steven C. Hollon, who founded the awards in 2005. “This truly is a staff-driven event.”
