Continuing Legal Education

Each active member of the Ohio bar is required to attend continuing legal education (CLE) courses to maintain and enhance professional competence. Every two years, a fulltime judge must complete 40 hours of accredited CLE activities, and a parttime judge or attorney must complete 24 hours of accredited CLE activities. A judge or attorney must report compliance with these requirements to the Supreme Court. CLE requirements are contained in Gov. Bar R. X and are administered by the Commission on Continuing Legal Education and the Office of Attorney Registration & CLE.
