195 Pass the February Bar Exam

The Ohio Supreme Court today released the results of the February 2018 Ohio Bar Examination, which was administered in Wilmington on February 27 - March 1.

Of the 374 applicants who sat for the exam, 195 – or 52.1 percent – received passing scores.

Among the 147 first-time applicants, 67 percent received passing scores.

A complete list of names of the successful applicants can be found on the Supreme Court’s bar exam results page. Of the two annual bar exams, fewer attorney hopefuls take the February exam than the exam in July.

The oath of office will be administered to applicants who were successful on the exam and who have satisfied all of the Supreme Court’s other requirements for admission. The oath will be administered during a special public session of the Supreme Court at 2 p.m. May 7 at the Ohio Theatre, 39 E. State St., Columbus.

Article IV, Section 2(B) (1)(g) of the Ohio Constitution grants the Supreme Court exclusive jurisdiction to regulate admission to the practice of law in Ohio. The Court’s Office of Bar Admissions oversees the admissions process.

Ohio’s next bar exam will be conducted July 24-26, 2018. Learn more about the bar exam on the Supreme Court’s bar exam information page.
