Advisory Committee on Technology and the Courts
The Advisory Committee on Technology and the Courts is a panel assigned by Chief Justice Thomas J. Moyer to assess the technology needs of Ohio courts and develop standards that will ensure the interoperability of all court information systems. Representatives were chosen from a wide range of experience including the courts, the bar, law enforcement, and technology.
Standards Subcommittee
The mission of the Standards Subcommittee is to establish standards to ensure full compatibility and interoperability of technology systems employed in Ohio courts.
Courtroom Record Work Group
The Courtroom Record Work Group will work to develop standards related to the creation, management, deployment, and storage of the effective original record of courtroom proceedings. The standards will be applicable to all types of technology that is used to record courtroom proceedings and make the record available for review or the appeals process.
Electronic Signatures Work Group
The mission of the Electronic Signatures Work Group is to establish minimum requirements to assure the integrity of electronic records and signatures generated or received by a court so that those who utilize these records will have confidence the records are authentic.
Compliance Work Group
The Compliance Work Group was formed to monitor issues relating to compliance with standards established by the ACTC.
Guidelines and Publications Work Group
The mission of the Guidelines and Publications Work Group is to create, promote, and maintain in non-technical language, relevant publications addressing technology issues and opportunities in the courts.
